Vocab 3

  • Rhythm-continuity, recurrence or organized movement in space & time.

     

  • Directional Movement-directs the viewer's eye around or through the artwork, in a way which the artist consciously or unconsciously determines.

  • Proportion / Scale-the relation of one part to the whole, or to other parts

  • Balance-a state of equilibrium of the visual forces in a composition.

  • Uniyt- painting is connected and flows nicely within itself

  • Harmony-he pleasing agreement of parts or combination of parts in a composition

  • Contrast-deliberate placement of elements to create opposition by abrupt transition rather than gradual.

  • Emphasis (Focal Point / Center of interest)- In two-dimensional images, the center of interest visually and/or subject-wise
