Just for fun

Just for fun I did another wallpaper- this one of Sleeping Beauty's Castle at Disneyland. I really like this style of wallpaper and decided to do another one of them.

FINAL WALLPAPERS!

Today in class we only got a half day to work- but it was enough time to finish the 8 wallpapers! I think I did one extra one but it was easy and took me no time at all to finish. This makes me really happy because this is due at the end of the semester so now I don't need to worry about them! This is exciting and I am happy that I got all of them done.

Vocab 2

Line- Leads eyes to focus points in pictures and creats dimensions

Shape- 2D figure (made my lines)
 


Form/Volume- 3D figure in space (made by value)
 



Color- has three different parts to it- hue, saturation, and intensity. Can be cool(greens, blue) or warm colors (red, yellow)
 


Value/Tone- lights and dark in a painting
 





Texture- Things that seem textile, like you can touch it
 

Space- area within the picture. Can be positive space or negative space (nothing is there)
 


Perspective- How the picture is viewed/painted. Birds-eye and worms-eye view

2.5 Wallpapers Done

Today was hard for me. It doesn't seem like I was productive, but these tutorials were hard today. I finished two, and got halfway done with the third (the top picture). I thought I got the hang of these tutorials, but some of the directions weren't clear, or I had to figure somethings out that I had no idea what it was. It was really annoying and caused me a headache. The good thing today was I figured out my problems with my grade. But next class i have to finish the dang rhino and finish up this wallpaper design.

Rhino/Zebra Again

Also today I worked on this rhino thing. I switched some of the legs around, tired to make the head larger, fit the body more, but I am still having trouble with the horns. I don't know where to begin with it and instead of getting mad and screwing up what i already have, I decided to do the wallpaper project. In class next time I am going to ask how to do the horns and fix some things because it just doesn't look right (if a rhino/zebra thing could look normal :-) ) But I am trying my best, but this project is hard and very confusing.

5 Wallpapers

Today I had a really productive day, I really felt like i used my time wisely. Taking a break from my rhino/zebra thing (cause I was getting frustrated) I decided to do the end of the year project. We have to choose 8 wallpapers and recreate them using Photoshop. In my class, I got 5 done in 45 minutes. They were pretty easy to do and a lot of fun to do as well. The directions were easy to follow and after a while i could predict what was coming next based on past tutorials. But it was fun and I feel pretty proud of myself for getting this many done.

Thumbnail Sketches

Here are mt thumbnail sketches. Since I had three ideas I was debating with I did a page for each. I tired to keep my sketches small, and I tried to do them fast because you are supposed to do them in under a minute. After doing the sketches I really liked my mug and my necklace/pendent ideas better than the earrings. The next step is to combine ideas, and do more sketches until you get something "perfect" (I think). Whelp, here they are

3D Idea Mind Map

Since I had to leave class early last time (tennis match- good news- we won!) I totally missed the next part of our 3D project- creating a mind map. A mind map is basically like a flow map that has different ideas, then branch off of them, then those can branch off those and so on and so forth. Sadly with the program we were using we could only use 60 different tabs- I met the number way to many times and had to condense and combine some ideas. But now since I got this map done- I need to do 2-4 pages of thumbnail sketches of different ideas. I will upload those as soon as I can.

Sphere Completed

After countless day I (think) I finished the sphere. I cleaned up the shadow edges some more and tilted it up. I tried for the end of the shadow to be more hazy but this is as good as I have ever gotten it. I can see the gradient from dark to white and I think it looks pretty cool. I might want to try this sphere again if I have time to really hone in on this skill, but for now, I think it is done.

3D Ideas

Once again, my computer is being jacked up so i couldn't post my pictures of the ideas I have until today. So here they are! Every time I try to upload a picture I always remind myself that I need to get my computer checked out, but then I forget until I need to post another picture. Whelp, story of my life. Either way, here are the pictures! There are some ideas that I want to explore more (like the jewelery, mugs, and mirror frame) but here are some ideas.

3D printing PInterest

Today we started a new project in class all about 3D printing. We had to sketch ideas on paper and take up two pages. (I'll upload that picture later.) Then we had to create a Pinterest account (I all ready have one!) and create a new board with ideas for our projects (this is my board). We had to have a minimum of 20 pins, but in all honesty, because I love Pinterest so much, i will be adding more pins. I want my idea to be something functional that i can wear or use or out around my house (like a lamp shade type thing) instead of being something sitting in a corner collecting dust.

Dang Sphere Shadow

Once again in class we worked on our sphere. I had to ask for a lot of help and I still as confused as ever, but somethings are coming into light. But the shadow is still buffing me but at least i have the gradient down. If I could just get the shadow that will make me very happy.

Sphere Day 2

Once again in class we continued working on our photo realistic shadow. I just made a couple of small adjustments in the color layer, added a background color, and tried with the shadow and the ambient shadow. These two shadows took me most of the class and this was the happiest I have been with these two shadows. I need to look on the website to see what else i still have to do but I think I am coming to a close on this sphere.
